While everyone finds their own truth and meaning in the art they love, for me Lacrymosa represents the dark, cold and broken feeling of depression. She is an angel grounded on earth; a heavenly creature who has fallen under the curse of melancholy. She is broken, yes, but not so badly that she can’t be rebuilt by time and resilience.
